I have been pondering this for a while. Why is it you often see Supra and Skyline engines making well over 750 hp. And it seems easier to get that kind of power out of there cars then it is for us. I mean I have seen plenty of Supras and Skylines well over 1000 hp. Is it because they have a I6 and not a V8. I have seen a street driven Supra with 1300 hp. I've never seen an LS1 with that. Am I just not looking hard enough? Yes, I know, this thread is technically about "import" engines, but not really. My question is, why does it seem like the I6's from Japan are so much stronger then the LS1. And don't say it is because we are aluminum, because they are too.

I thought for sure they were aluminum. But anyway. It seems like they're engines can hand a lot more power then the iron LSX's. I know tubros make power easier, but it just seems like they can handle so much more power.
