A Little Help, What Do You Guys Think About This Deal?

A Little Help, What Do You Guys Think About This Deal?
I would really appreciate the help here guys. I am lookint at a Black 2002 WS6 M6 with 50K miles on it, and it's a dealer car. I got the guy down to 17.5K. EXTERIOR: No Dings or dents at all, and no scratches. However the nose will need to be repainted due to bug damage (It is a southern car and I guess if you dont clean the bugs off they are very acidic and eat through the paint). Also there are 2 quater-sized spots on the hood where the clear coat has chipped/bubbled off. DRIVE-TRAIN: The engine sounds good, there is a little bit of engine noise but it sounds like it is coming from the top-end (noisy valvetrain most-likey), I think I am just paranoid because I am about to spend alot of money(to me anyway), and I am just afraid of buying a car that blows-up, the guy said they did an oil change with 5-30 synthetic. Other than that the engine is stock besides and aftermarket lid and a SLP MAF. INTERIOR: Is nearly perfect with the exception of a seatbelt holder on the headrest is missing on one side. And there is a small plate behind the wiper switch on the steering column which is missing. The guy said that he would fix both of these for free if I bought it.
What do you guys think? I would appreciate any help, should I take it or pass on it?
Thanks

17.5 on a 2002 WS6 is right on NADA book value from a dealer. SO the money is not bad but not great. Buying a used car is always hit or mis. Just inspect it real close. those are funny parts to be missing. Why are they missing is a good question to ask. Does it smoke at all? Automatic or standard trans? Look underneath it and see if there is any damage.

It is a M6. No smoke at all. We started after it was sitting and no smoke, then we drove it for a bit. After we let it sit I started it up again and no smoke. The seatbelt holder thing that is mounted on the headrest broke off the headrest. And the panel that is missing is right behind the headlight switch. It is about 2" by 2" little panel that snaps into place, sort of light a fuse panel cover.

Well the guy had it listed for 17.9K, I asked him what he could do on the price, thinking he would come down to 17K and then I would try to get him down from there, but he only said 17.5K. I think if I offered 13K he would lol. Anyone have any idea on what these guys might pay at a dealership car auction for a car like this? Are we talking 8K, 12K, 15K?

Not sure where your getting 15k for a value but all the power to him if he can get it that low.

Honestly im sure you could talk him down even more, espesially if you show him a good down payment in cash. thats what i did. you also have to consider that every day that goes on there are less and less f-bodys and the ones that are still around have more and more miles on them. A 2002 WS6 M6 is a really good find, but for 50k miles on it offer him 16 or 16.5k. just my 2 cents.

actually it is a really small dealership. He has ~12 cars, but specializes in f-bodys, vettes, and stangs. I would love to know what these guys get these cars for at auctions.

Oh yea, and how hard is it to color match a black front bumper? Also how much would you guys think it would cost to fix two quater-sized spots on the hood where the clearcoat is chipped?

Black is black but if your paint if faded not much they can do to color match except blend it best they can on the car. As far as the repairs pro'lly half hour to an hour of repair time and then like 1.5 hrs to paint plus materials maybe. I'm looking at an estimate I just had done to touch up my car and guessing what yours would be.
