Default Dead LS1 update!

The other thread became really mis-directed but I dont want to delete it so I am just making this one as a straightforeward approach to keeping you guys posted.

The new fuel pump is in and tank back in the car. Susp./exhaust is not back on yet. The water pump still needs doing. All in all I am very pleased that its only been in the shop since sat. night and gotten this far.

See, there you go. Now it will be better than when you started. Hope you put in a little more powerful fuel pump since you had it out, I know I would.

Keep us posted, I have read numerous threads about your problematic WS6 and I also would be on the verge of selling it. Hopefully this will be it for ya for a while.

Hopefully you won’t have any further issues for a while. Maybe now you can start enjoying the car.

PS. If it makes you feel any better, my Bonneville has recently developed a small intake gasket leak, it’s oozing a bit of coolant. No biggie. **** happens from time to time. Car has 70K miles and is 11 years old. Can’t complain.

I went with the OEM Delphi unit. I dont plan on upgrading things to the point of needing an aftermarket pump.

In a fit of of utter disappointment in your purchase, you could always sell me your not so lemony repaired cursed car to me for a very high discount... I mean it's cursed and a lemon and not worth much, right?

heh

If you want it I will sell 1/2 between NADA trade-in and NADA avg. retail...that puts it at 15.2K. Cash/cashiers check only. I only sell things the way I buy them

Ya know, a Walbro kit is considerably cheaper than the OEM pump, actually.

I am picking her up later tonight. Also a GOOD chance i will run my dad in my 244whp 5.0 from a 50 punch. Water pump goes on sometime next week probably, currently it got: New fuel pump, new brakes in the rear (they were vibrating a bit). and my oldschool mechanic SWEARS I have an open differential b/c when he rotates the tire, the other one goes the opposite way and 1 rear is WORE OUT and the other isnt bad (I rotated the tires only a little while ago and do NO burnouts, so its just wear from being up-frong misaligned). I have tried telling him its a Torsen T2, but he calls me an idiot and says I need to go to Votech and learn something and get off the computer and stop being stupid...oh well. I am betting money on it leaving TWIN black marks if he will take it

Tell your mechanic HE is the one that needs to learn something. Your car has a Zexel/Torsen rear, it is IN FACT a limited slip rear, and when the rear is not under load (like the car being on a lift), the tires will spin in opposite directions. This is perfectly normal. That's how it's supposed to be. Under load, it will spin both tires unless the rear is fucked. But even if it were messed up, if you were to get a new OE/GM rear that was in perfect working order, the tires would still spin in opposite directions when the car is off the ground.

Bet him the cost of your repair bill.

He is my cousin, I cant screw him out of TOO much. He is just an older guy (60's) and thinks anyone under 50 is stupid. I am sure you know the kind.
