Default UPDATE on satan's spawn

Well, got the window motor today and ordered the AC Delco water pump (175, in tuesday). My friend is installing the window motor Saturday and I will hand him $100. He will tend to the water pump when it comes in or next weekend (included in that $100). My SES light was due to a "low voltage in circuit bank 2, o2 sensor 2". Basically emissions ****. It went off though. I had them clear the code, and it has not come on sense...I am just leaving it alone as it wont impact performance and I am not worried aobut it if its not lighting up on me.

The deal is if he does the water pump he will flush the coolant ect. and has full access to dealership tools, ect. I cant flush my own coolant and I figure a coolant flush, full inspection, water pump swap, window motor replacement is worth $100.

****, I wish I lived near you. I would love to get handed $100 for swapping a window motor out. It wasn't very difficult...

I am sitting here in the MOPAR dealership listening to my friend drill holes in my door He said at a later date it could crack he said. It was either drill the door panel or undo the regulator pop-rivets on the window-75+% chance of breaking the glass he said. I went with the drilling. ANyone have this crack later on where it was drilled?

I doubt it, considering this is how most everyone replaces these motors. If it was prone to cracking, I'm sure we would've heard some of those stories by now.

NEVER heard of a cracking story, so long as he's not drilling 3" holes with a hole saw, you should be fine.

When I changed the window motor in my Z34, I had to drill out the 4 pop rivots and replace them with bolts + nuts. That was a nightmare... but I would do it again if someone paid me $100 lol

Why is drilling out the pop rivots on these cars prone to breaking the glass?

It's not. That's the point here, that guy is giving BLKWS.6 false worries. He's already got enough worries without having someone adding false ones.

FYI. Here is a link to the most common method that people use to replace these motors. As you can see, it requires drilling. I'd say that basically everyone on this site that has replaced a window motor has used this method:
