It is kinda funny that you say you found TA M6 deals all over the place but no WS6's. I have been looking for a M6 bird for awhile now, and anytime I see a sleak beak it is a A4 almost never a M6. Its seems as though WS6 are more commonly found with a M6.

I guess it all comes down to patience, and the right car. In the loooong run I will probably try to mod the **** out of whatever car I get...so maybe its worth saving the money on a non-ws6? So in review?...The only things I will be passing up are wheels(I would change anyway), bigger sway bars, and the hood & badge?? Same spoiler??

All that and knowing your car isn't a real WS6 by not having the sticker in the glove box say WS6 in the codes, but that pretty much sums it up.

Oh, that, and if you ever go to sell again a real WS6 can pull better numbers. But if you buy for yourself, I see no reason to pay more than $2500 over a base TA for a WS6, which seems to be the markup for the package.

Do suspension, wheels, hood, and you're set to go.

it really depends on what you wanna buy it for. racing? i'd do the A4 if you are gonna race it a lot cuz the rear can handle more abuse. you said you were gonna mod the **** out of it, so unless a new rear is planned, i'd go with the A4. personally, i bought a M6 non-ws6 cuz its funner IMO. i dont race that much and havent modded it that much, mostly cuz im scared its going to break and i cant afford **** right now. either way you are doing the right thing by getting a TA....ws6 or not . itll also get to a certain point that either way you'll either have to buy a new tranny, or rebuild it. cuz stock trannies will break if you have a lot of power. with the m6, a new clutch will be needed not too long into your modding.

this may be a dumb quesion, but... what is the obsession with M6's? I've had manual tranny cars in my past and they got old real fast. I love my A4 t/a. for the same price i would get the a4 ws6.

Its all personal preference, and most people prefer the M6. There are a bunch of reasons why, but if you look way back into muscle car history up until today, almost all automotive enthusiasts (besides some top drag racers) the world over prefer to row their own gears.

I don't know where your looking, but in my area (california) WS6 M6's are everywhere. I just picked mine up a few months ago for 12,500 with 50k miles on it. They're out there, just keep looking. I agree though, go for the tranny. The hood swap is way cheaper. Personally though I love my Ws6, but that's just me.
