Default cops got me

i was on my way to school with a radar ofcourse..its 750 and my class starts 8..some idiot is going 30 in a 45 so i pass him..im doing 80 till i c some white car 1/4 mile ahead..i hit the breaks..i thought it was a lincoln not a cop..w/e..i hit them pretty good..i see him pull over and get behind me..but i can swear my radar didnt go off..he comes up and asks me how fast i was going.. i said 45..cuz i know he didnt get me..he tells me to step out.

He goes..''if your gonna lie, then ill make this hard on you, u were doing 76 in a 45'..i tried to say anything i could.. im late, im sorry, EVERYTHING..guy seemed cool..he said ur getting a ticket but i mean a lousy speeding..if hes nice enough to make it 'lousy'....******* comes back 815 when im already fkin late..''you're getting 2 tickets.'' Reckless and Speeding..anything over 30 is reckless..76 in a 45 is 31...can u believe that..i seriously dont know what to do..im 18 and am on my parents insurance..im probably gonna lose my ws6 for this and on top of that..points on insurance?? like did u really have to give me a reckless...speeding ill take but reckless?!!? its marked off as he got me with the radar so i cant fight that..cuz when i pulled over..my friend unplugged the radar and when we plugged it back, it was going off full bars..i seriously dont know what to do..sorry for making this long, but im rele about to lose my car..btw..reckless is 5 pts and the speeding is 4..im trying to call a lawyer now but either way i doubt he can do much..im so fucked

When they know they didnt get you they are basiclly going to play a bluffing game with you. Obviously if you were going that fast and he did radar you, he is not going to make that easy on you because that pretty fast. By threatening that he is going to make it hard on you, he is trying to get you to confess. You just have to stand by your story and how fast you say you were going. He cant write you a ticket for lying to him. Good luck straitening everything out. I have been in your shoes and thats why I am selling my car now.

U R doing 80 in a 45....but the cop is an *******? Take responsibility 4 your actions.

Don't lie. It degrades you. If you don't want to admit to a violation, say "I respectfully decline to answer that. Or I don't know...I'm not sure" something like that.

The cops are a very underapreciated group of people. Stopping people from going 80 in a 45 zone is there job. You broke the law, you got a ticket. I just don't c y he is an *******.

I do feel your pain about getting clocked when passing. I'm glad 2 here u were slowing down. I would have given you a break....but he still isn't an ******* in my book. Its hard 4 him to know you intended to slow down. Its hard to tell a safe driver w a fast car from an idiot putting people at risk. Maybe you would have got a ticket either way, but lying couldn't have helped your image in his eyes.

Some people who drive too fast do it because they genuinely don't care about anyone else. I'll take your word 4 it that higher speed isn't an issue there, and there wasn't much chance of taking out a kindergardner or anything. I don't feel you are like this...just giving you a devils advocate side.

This OTHER group of people is y we pay too much to insure these cars, and y speed enforcement is necessary in the 1st place. Again, I'm not saying you are in this group-just providing the flip side.

Have you figured out y I'm defending him yet?

You need to read the first post again about the radar.

You know the law, you broke it, you pay the consequences for the exact laws you broke. That is why they are there and you should know em. If you don't that it is to your disadvantage. Radars in your car are a immediate ticket if you get stopped 90% of the time. It shows that yes you do speed, alot, and that you just try to stay slow when your radar goes off. Makes em think your a dangerous driver. This is why you got 2 tickets instead of one.

I'm sure he could've tagged on other charges. Cop cars also have radar/lazer mounted in the front AND back of there cars, just because you were behind him doesnt mean he could zap you.
Why would you get 2 tickets? I have had several charges on one ticket (speeding, driving to endanger and reckless driving)

Next time, leave earlier.
