HHMmmm thats tough. Its probably one of the least attractive fbods. But it is nice and harder to find over any LS1. I hate selling things that are hard to get back. If you like it keep it.

If it is not rusted out much, swap in an M6 and keep it forever. Forget the LS1 swap. All you need is an overdrive gear or two. That rock crusher is all that is holding you back. It is not an easy swap.

Made my Decision
I appreciate all of the input and comments when I asked your opinions a couple of months ago. I decided to buy a 2002 SS anniversary car with 8200 miles on it. I will have both cars for awhile, but well be selling the 79 in a few months. I love the 79 and have an unbelievable amount of work in it. My wife is in the military and every time we move it is always a challenge figuring out the new states policy on emissions and inspections and if the car will pass and what I need to do if it won't. It will be nice to have a decently fast car that will pass easily no matter were we move. The 79 was a dog stock and I have no desire to put it back anywhere close to stock. As much as I like it what is the point if it can’t be fast. The BS policies some states have really pisses me of sometimes. I have included a picture of the two cars together. Once again thanks for the input.

thats one bad 2nd gen.... i say you keep it and just store it. you dont owe anything on it just park it at a family members and throw a sheet over it. I have a 3rd gen and it is my pride an joy its not as fast as my z28 but i dont think i would have given it up for a newer model anything.... Both cars are bad *** enjoy..

Looks like you made a great choice though it was a very hard decision. I told you to keep it, but I doubt i would have made a different call seeing that SS. Have fun with the new car, and welcome to LS1Tech!
