You know we're all going to be old someday, and the younger folks will be saying this stuff about us.

Older people may not cause as many wrecks, but they can be frustrating as hell when your trying to get across town!

I don't think old people should have their licenses taken away. My dad is 65 and still sharp. He drives his car, work truck, and 30+ foot motor home with no problems (of course no one that knows him thinks he is 65)

But, I think that after the age of 65 their should be a mandatory annual testing for reaction, driving skills, vision, etc....

I say make the driving test harder to get your license the first time. You should know how to pump gas, change a tire, change the oil, check fluids, know how much air goes in the tires and be able to check/fill them plus some other basic stuff before you can even get your license.

Then have a quick driving test every 5-10 years to renew your licence.

The airlift is pretty cool if they just do it for precautionary reasons. I've been there b/f it was pretty cool.

Sorry to here about your car though. I hope you don't get screwed by the insurance company.

Another inane post by the jackass. Yes you are a jackass JL ws-jerky.

Biggest problem by far are teenage kids. I say no one gets a license until they're 18 yrs old. I'm home all day. I see the stupid little retards all day long speeding home to eat lunch then speeding back. 50+ in a 25 all the time. Then when I'm trying to take my kids to school in the am I have to deal with their inability and inexperience in timing the traffic to get the **** out from in front of me at the stop sign. Old people might not be fast but the young retards on the road are much much worse. MUCH ******* worse.
Old people don’t use cell phones. Biggest issue on the road today is young people and their cell phones. Teenagers had a hard enough time driving with the radio on and now they are talking and trying to drive when they cant even walk and chew gum at the same time. It’s a ******* nightmare to those of us WHO OWN THE ROAD!!

Now to the poster of the thread very very sorry to hear about your car. The lawer will take car of you financialy so you should come out ahead. Hopefully you dont have any prolonged injuries. Took me about 5 weeks to shake my soreness in my back and hip and shoulder. I didnt go the the hospital, wasnt about to sue my own insurance company. Drove my car off the road dukes o hazzard style.
I crashed my baby on the 1st of January and it hasnt been back yet. I came within $156 of a total. My plan (if it was totalled) was to buy back the car keep the engine and put it into a high mileage c5. Sell all the parts I could.
Most of my damage was front suspension though. Only need a one fender and the nose peice with slight repair to the hood. You should have a few option after the lawsuit so I wouldnt worry to much. Yeah it was your baby but it is only a car. Course I'm getting mine back, might not be thinking the same way if I wasnt but you have to move on when you have to. Good luck!!

Dropping from post, dont want to go back and forth with jackass JL ws-6

What's all this about blanco? I agree that teens are a huge problem, but Jl was just mentioning the problem more relevant to this thread. I fully agree that people should be re-tested at a certain age. My grandmother has had 3 wrecks in 2 years and nearly killed the last person she hit. Yet she still has insurance, a liscence and a car. That agitates me. It means that my grandmother's stubborness could very well kill someone! I despirately wish they would pass a law here in Alabama that would make her re-test. I'm certain she'd fail, and as a loving grandson, I would be overjoyed.

I don't know if it was because of his rude way of putting it, or a previous dislike, but your anger at Jl is rediculous. Lighten up!

How fast our lives can change! When all the dust settles I'll decide what I want to do with the car. Engine and drivetrain are fine. Passenger side of car is fine.
Wait...You said that the passenger side was t-boned, and then later said that the passenger side was okay... Did I miss something?

Sorry I havent been able to post . The drivers side, hood, and rear hatch and spoiler are fine. The drivetrain should be fine. My lawyer said he will get the salvage title for me. Will try to post pictures today. I'm telling you that rollbar kept her car from coming into mine! I'm glad I had it made by a pro and did not try to do it myself. Elite Race Cars in fort Pierce Fl. built it for me. Seven years of parking at the far end of parking lots to avoid dings and generally watching out for the car and now this! I hoped to have this car forever! I know **** happens, but this just blows me away! How in 2 seconds your whole life changes. I definately want another car, I'll just have to wait and see what happens with insurance etc. Maybe put this powertrain in a donor car or sell it all and start over. I had the car brought to my house the day after the crash so parts didnt start disappearing at the impound yard. I appreciate all the kind words, only you guys know what its like to lose your dream car! Some people say "its just a car" but its really much more than that!!!

Paul
