Car got broken into
Somebody smashed in the driver's side windows of mine and 2 other cars last night at my college. They were after high dollar radar detectors, my bel pro rx65 and their escorts. They left all other cars with cobras and low end detectors alone. It was was all in one parking lot too. Im pretty sure they go to my school and know our cars well because I dont leave my detector on the windshield when its parked(so they had to of known I had one) and they knew which cars to get and which to leave alone. Luckily they left my tools and system alone, guess the alarm made them hurry.
Never been broken into but now i know how it feels. We all filed a police report and I called my insurance company; however, they wont cover anything because my deductable is $500. So now im out about 150 for a window and 250 to 300 for another radar detector . This has just been a bad day. I just want to find the guys that did it and

For next to nothing you can get the deductible on the comprehensive portion of your insurance moved down to $0 or $100. I have State Farm and I'm grandfathered into the $0 comp and I think it cost me less like $20.00 more for 6 months than a $500 one would. If you have even one incident it pays for itself for like 10+ years. State Farm doesn't offer the $0 comp anymore on new policies but do have the $100 comp available. I think All State still offers the $0 comp though. My g/f has that through them and where she goes to school her car has been broke into 3 times in 6 years and she never pays a dime and always gets new/updated stuff. If you're on a college campus and have a decent car wih anything aftermarket in it the chances are you're going to get hit up. Thieves make a living at those places.
