For a street car you should keep looking for a M6.

jesus i must be one of the very very few people that prefers an auto to a six for the record stalled auto with gears isnt that damn boring yes a six has its advantages like racing from a roll but you can race from a roll with an auto just dont go from 70 roll but what kinda race doesnt start from a dig or under 20 roll i dont like breaking things like 10 bolts constantly putting clutches in the car and i like a bein able to let my girl drive me home when i get smashed and her race the car if i feel generous

since you said it wont be a daily driver = 6spd
i think stalled a4's are really fun, but the 6spd is still a little more so
DONE and DONE
p.s. i'm picking up a navy blue metallic '02 Z-28 headers/ls6 intake/lid 59k miles, t-tops, leather for $6k.
it needs a new clutch - but i just put my order in for that insane ls7/ls2 deal scoggin dickey has going on right now.

To the OP: Trav, do what you think will make you happier when you are driving it. If you want to drive my car and then drive Jon's for a slight comparison, feel free. I'll give you the keys whenever you need em. I know my car is faster than his, but at least you can get the general feel for a cammed and geared M6 vs an A4.

You know whats fun to do that you cant do in an auto?
Everything, lawl, but seriously...
when you're stopped at a red light at a slight incline and nobodys behind you, you can roll back a little bit and then rev her back forward and repeat haha.

weight, i dont know, probably close to the same. 78 has alot more steel then my 02, but the 02 has more comfort options: power seats, air, electronic stuff, etc. the 02 is WAY faster, thanks to the orginal owner of my 78 putting 389 heads on a 400 motor. makes for nice horsepower, but pings like a bastard. just to keep it driveable, i have to retard the **** out of the timing. so much so that its really lame as far as power. edelbrock aluminum heads are on the list for it, eventually.

I say get whatever you want. I really don't care about it that much. I think people get way to excited about what trans is in their car. Only time I would ever have to pick one or the other would be for a car built more for track racing than drag racing in which case I would get a manual. Manual and stalled auto are both fun. I just think it is funny when people ask if my truck is an auto or a stick, I say auto and they get disapointed. Makes me laugh.
Lol, I agree. That is rather fun to do.

When I buy another car I have every intention of sending to Ron @ Vengence Racing an having a H/C/I swap done on the car (TFS and a Fast 90/90 setup). Here is my dilemma should I hold out for an M6 or do you guys think that the auto is the way to go? The car will be a weekend driver an never see the track only the occasional street races with my buddies. Thanks guys for any tips or advice.
