Default wich engine to build?!

Alright guys i just wanted to get ur input on wich engine i should go with for my 98ss. Im thinking about building a 408 with a blower and run a decent amout of spray on it. Build my ls1 even more to put the kenne bell 2.8 liter supercharger they make for the vett, or possibly build the ls1 for a single t88 turbo. Any advice from anyone thats had a setup like thoes, or knows anything about them, or even just want to tell me what they would like to see in camaro ur comments would be greatly appricated.

Im pretty sure the Kenne Bell wont fit in the F-body, thats why they dont make one for it.

No its not because the Vette has a different engine, its because there isnt enough room in the F-body since the engine is farther back and under the dash. Someone that knows for sure correct me if Im wrong.

BLK95, U R correct. The superchargers that sit on the manifold...wipple, magnuson, eaton, etc..do not clear the cowl. Only the centrifical ones fit. There R a couple treads on here about making them work. Eeither extensive cowl modification, or lifting the body over the K-member

KB blowzilla for the vette's only fit because as someone said above the engine isnt crammed under the cowl like it is on the f-bodies. As for advice on your build, it all depends on what kinda times your looking to run at the track or what power levels you want to hit. If your going to a max effort build I would say go with an iron 408 forged shortblock, afr/etp/tfs heads, sheet metal intake/fast/carb setup, single s-85 turbo or t-88, whichever you prefer. Then there is the tranny and rear end setup, etc...If you just looking for a fun street car that makes over 500 rwhp then I say sell your stock shortblock and buy a forged shortblock from one of the sponsors (such as tsp), pick up some partiot 6.0 liter heads, stay with an ls6 intake manifold and ported stock tb, and go with a ds1c kit from EPP.

Go with the 408 or 402. I say add a lot of nitrous, but to some people, they prefer a blower or turbo. Get what ever you feel man. Just remember, don't have Joe Blow down in the ghetto do the install. You will regret it when the stuff is falling a part.

Its not my daily driver. Id like to build the 408 or 408 get turbo or supercharger on it and spray the hell out of it still. Im gunna get the motor professionally built by this local shop that is known for building bad a** hot rods and drag cars, so wont fall apart on me. Id like for the car to be atleast a high 8 or low 9 sec car. Or atleast fast enough to beat my buddys 2.8kb cobra thanks alot for the advice guys keep it comin!

you can fit a KB. You need to notch the cowl a bit, and get a cowl induction hood of some sort... its been done.

If you really do decid to go forced induction research until you think you're ready...then research 6 more months...And be prepared for some headaches.

I would just get a nice H/C 408 with a big shot. It's a lot of fun and without the nitrous the car would already be stupid fast on the street.
