I have made several road trips with my 2001 Camaro SS. The one of the two longest was from Los Angeles, Ca to San Antonio, Tx (total rountrip was 3400 miles). I had changed the oil before the trip, as well as other general maintinance stuff ... came home from the trip and the next day I changed the oil. The other trip was up the coast, following the PCH upto Monterrey with my wife. Very worthwhile trip if you have time to do it. Nothing like cruising up PCH, T-tops off with your babe riding shotgun and enjoying the scenery. I plan to do way more road trips in the near future.

Clean up afterwards is a major pita, but kind of worth it.

Driven from St. louis, to So-cal. Took it all over southern California for two years (enough to rack up 30,000+ miles), and then driven home to St. louis. A month ago I drove it to my new place in Atlanta. It's a 98 with 81,000 miles.

Definitely not comfortable, but fun.

Illinois to Florida and back. 2,000 miles. Got a 90 mph in a 70 mph zone. Got 28.8 mpg. Six speed, bone stock (even lid) and had ~90-100K on the clock. Might very well do it again this year.

I always wanted to take my trans am on a road trip, i sold it a few months back 1998 car with under 38,000 miles i regret it, i never took it much farther then maybe 100 mile trip, and i really regret not doing it cause i always wanted to drive it down to myrtle beach for vacation which is like 1200 mile round trip, and now i see they have a f body car show there in july

I'll take the Camaro out to Lubbock to see my brother or to Houston to see friends down there, damn fun drives indeed, just stay back from trucks on the highway to avoid rock chips and you'll be ok, .

when I moved to florida from Indiana. Had everything I owned plus my wife. Drove straight thru, and the wife didn't complain about the ride, which was nice.

I've drove mine from Orlando to Atlanta (approx 450 miles) for the F bod gathering 3 yrs ago. no chips. can always buy a bra to help keep the nose clean.

I will most likely do it again this year.

I was in a time crunch to report into my new base so I was in a HURRY.

I drove at 94 mph (19 mph over the speed limit) for over 800 miles, only stopping for gas, on a hot Texas/New Mexico summer day, over two-lane practically abandoned highways in the middle of nowhere.

I regularly passed cars at over 120 mph, at least once ever 20 minutes, lots of RV's, Semi's, and illegals packed in the back of trucks.

Car ran perfectly the whole time and afterwards for year on, only problem being my lower back OUCH!!!

Drove my old 96RS to South Florida almost every year, 10 times, but at times I wish I didn't. In 140K I had to have the hood and front bumper refinished and painted twice and it was ready for a 3rd time when I traded it in for my Z. I about cried after the first trip when I washed it and saw all the chips. I couldn't believe how bad it was. That car was just a dream to drive on those long highway cruises though. Soooo easy and comfortable to drive ,very comfortable sleeping in the passenger seat as well. Now I wish I would have kept it when I bought the Z but there was no more room in the garage. Everybody tells me I was a dumbass for not keeping it. The only thing it needed was the stone chips fixed again.

There is no way I would take my Z on a cruise like that right now, the stock suspension just isn't built for that type of drive at all. Hopefully when I get the koni SA's sitting in my garage installed it will make a big difference in that regard. If so, I won't hesitate to drive it to Florida this year, stone chips can be fixed. I might look into that clear bra though.

From Hollywood to San Fransisco and Hollywood to Vegas with a few buddies in their F-bods. Fun as hell!!!

Quick Tip: Add a few extra heavy coats of wax to your front bumper and hood... maybe even you fenders if you want before you hit the road out to Cali,... It'll help keep road crap from ******* up your paint.

Well I made up my mind and purchased a colgan bra(NIB half price including shipping offf ebay). So i'll be driving from NJ to NC and back, i'm sure it will be worth it to cruise in that rather than the saturn. Just as long as the forcast isn't rain for the whole week it'll be the TA that gets me there.

I've driven mine to South Carolina a time or two running about 85 mph on the interstate, been to Panama City Beach Florida with the t-tops out. I left Knoxville at 5:00 in the morning and arrived in Panama around 5:00 or so. The car ran great, played with a few vette's along the way. We are going to Charleston, SC this year, we went last year and took the GTP but we're taking the Z-28 this year. My car is driven mostly locally but it's been out of state several times on vacation and for trips due to work.

i bought my car from a guy in hillsborro oragon, flew up there and drove it back down 101 to sandiago the tock I8 back to odessa tx , that was one hell of a drive, loved it

Driven my whip from just south of DC to Mass. to see the In-laws, that was pre-baby though, so i doubt that will ever happen again!

Well, ive driven mine from Dc to the OBX plenty of times, its a nice ride and road conditions arent bad. Scenery is ok but gets awesome once u get close to OBX. Its a decent ride especially with a vert but i guess t-tops are nice too. i took my 00 RS down thier once with the T-tops off and the wife got a tan on the way down.

Made the move TX to VA in my '94 Z28 in 1999 and then when I moved again I drove it VA to Chicago and went to live in Europe for 2.5 years. Came back from Europe, got it out of storage near Chicago and moved back down to Texas. All of these drives were done on a racing seat.

We took my wife's 2000 B4C from Austin to Chicago twice for Xmas. This last year we took my Silverado HD Crew Cab. WAY more comfortable.
