www.SVTPerformance.com doubts LS1s Ok so there is a video I took of my buddy Chris (4U 2 NV) at Orlando Speed World running 12.83 @ 110. His car is a minor bolt on car (headers, lid, cat-back, pulley) and they're calling him a liar and saying there's no way a light bolt-on LS1 will run 12's. These people must be morons, seeing as there's been a few stock LS1s run 12's. I have a friend with a 6-speed 02 Z28, headers, lid, dump, and tune on M/T Drag Radials that has gone 12.2 @ 114 with the timing pushed way up. So if anyones a member at SVTP go over there and help us set these people straight.

To be honest its one Douche' (<-- its French) Bag in particular most everyone else agrees 12s with light bolt-ons is normal. The cars this guy is listing as proof LS1s can't go 12's are heads, cam, spray, fully built cars that are at best trapping high 11's at 118, or so he says.

just a typical argument, they kno that cobra's and ls1's have always run close, and they are lots of x factors that go along with the race, the car, the driver, race weight and all that, cobra's are nice but to me they are not worth the extra $ that they cost for not much more power

i have the 2001 issue of mmff were they tested the 01 cobra they got low 13sc out of it ,wellthey also tested a base 98 z for comparison of price vs performance they got a 12.80 out of it the article was funny as hell

I had a buddy whom WAS a diehard Cobra/Mustang guy. I tried over and over again to explian him the physics to him and the difference of an F body vs a Mustang. I owned a 98 Cobra and a 03 GT and neither one could hold a candle to my WS6 when it was stock. A lot of DIEHARD owners of Cobras hell any car think that their **** doesnt stink and they are the fastest MFR out there. And I love my F body but man I have seen so really fast cars of all types.

I like it how some have in their sig "4.6L S/C motor(pic) > ls1(pic)"...... Kinda saying that they make more power and are superior.... however, last time i checked, we left off as the ls6 when their 03/04 motor came in, and our ls6 made 405hp N/A with half the valves, and they have quadruple the cams!!!!... and to top it off, a freakin' supercharger!!!!!.....And they're stilll making less power than our N/A V8!!!!!!!

I posted in that thread and like lswon00 said it is mainly one idiot on there with a couple agreeing that wont accept the truth. For the most part SVTP is great board with good tech oriented info and people that know what GM's are capable of. It's just like this site, the majority of people are cool to talk with, but there are some *** clowns that are brand loyal beyond imagination. It comes with the hobby.

lol......SVT performance, let Ford first come out with a decent "sports car" and then maybe I'd take them seriously. I wouldn't own a Ford if it was given to me, even kids in the short bus know GM Performance> SVT "performance".... makes you kinda wonder what bus they ride in
