I've got an SLP one, but thta's because it was cheap. I personally really like UMI Performance they make some real quality stuff, the Moly Chrome STB would be better as it's stronger and lighter.
However in all reality an STB isn't a complex bit of kit, just a bent bar with 4 holes in to bolt it on, so as long as it's not made from cardboard any should be fine.

I can't say how it affects handling but I had read you will experience less cowl shake over rail tracks and expansion joints; that has been my experience. To me, that was worth the price, which as others have mentioned, is not much compared to some other bolt ons.

Hey, my BMR Xtreme duty should be here any day. ($200 from Thunder Racing) Putting it on only for looks when I pop the hood. If it helps steady things, great.

If your a hard core road racer with slicks on all four corners it wouldnt hurt to have one. If your a drag racer or just a weekend toy ect save your money unless your going for appearance. The unitized front structure on our cars is very stable and the strut towers will not deflect under even the most severe driving. SFC's are a different story, I think even a stock/daily driver can benifit from a set of SFC's.

I had Edlebrock 3 pt. on my '91 and it did feel a helluva tighter.I haven't put any on the '02,but I hear the 3pt. are bad for 4th gens so I'll probably get a 2 pt.to keep from cracking the windshield.I also noticed a big improvement with weld-in SFC on the '91.

^^^ I have some kick-*** Double Diamond SFCs, My 98 Trans Am with T-tops feels stiffer than my friends 98 hard-top Z28. I dont think having 17's on my car and only 16's on hers would make that difference, would it?
I also recently put on a Chrome-moly Navy Blue BMR STB a few months ago, VERY light, so even if it was a totally useless mod, its not THAT much dead-weight, and the navy looks good on my Mystic Teal TA...
-then again, this is my first f-body, i've only had it for two years, Im not sure how much i'm qualified to voice an opinion.

It helps a little bit, but a set of sway bars will help out alot more! 
The STB did help though with some small rattles on the front end of my cars.

If it was a useless mod why would so many diffrent companys make them i could tell a diffrence after i added mine it helped the front end from being so bouncy around corners i believe that its mot the best handling mod but it helps a lil make the car not lean as much in the corners
