Z28 vs. SS Insurance rates?
Okay so I called my insurance company to have the insurance on my camaro suspended for 6 months while I tear the car apart and put it back together. (I love USAA) and all was fine, I put my new DD sled on the policy yadda yadda.
Then I check the website to make sure my policy was all good, and for the camaro it is now set to "Storage/Rebuild" status but I noticed that it is on my policy as
2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS
but my car isn't an SS... so should I tell them that it's not an SS (would that save me any money?) or leave it as that?

what if you get in a wreck and on the policy is says SS yet its truly a Z28...couldn't the insurance company be a dick and say that they can't cover it because you signed false paperwork saying that the car was an SS when really it was a Z28?

They know by the VIN and charge the same for rates. Mines been insured in two different states, both listed as a "CMROZ28/SS" followed by the VIN, even on the ID cards.

I wonder if there would be any problems getting parts if you needed them? Like a hood persay. If you really have a Z28 maybe you could get an oem SS hood as replacement since its all the same to them? Or maybe they could do vice versa and give your SS a Z hood?
Insurance under parents name FTW! $340 every 6 months babay!!
