Default Hail damage

There is some hail in my area...dont have any car-port or anything. I dont think any hit my car, it is currently under my SLP car-cover. There might be more hail later though. I know our cars are mostly plastic from the above profile. How succeptable to hail damage are our F-bodies? Damn weather

I think the car cover should help a bit but I'm not sure there's much you can do... unfortunately it's just the way it is. I can't think of a way to soften the blow.

Yeah, will the SLP car-cover cushion it a bit? Prevent chips, ect. better than if I did not have it? A few cars in my apartment complex now have chips in their windshields and a couple VERY MINOR body-dents. My WS6 is at my grandmas house and so far the hail has avoided it (10 miles away).

Well the cover definately can't hurt. Any layer of something between the hail and your paint is better than directly hitting the paint.

throw a thick blanket on it and tie it down real good with some twine or string...whatever you have. Then lie face down on top of it, hold it close, and whisper sweet nothings to it. That's what I would do!

hahaha

I was thinking about one of those egg crate blankets or something. A nice wool blanket over the car cover would be great... definately tie it down well though... it would suck to lose that to some wind!

I think the worst of it has passed and it missed. If I ever have this happen again...egg-crate blanket and string FTW!!! THANKS for the idea!

No problem. This has been helpful for me as well. We don't usually get hail very often but I think I have a universal car cover in my basement and we've got at least one egg crate blankets here.

Just tie a bunch of pillows to the top of your car

OMG thats funny right there,

And I would just put some blankets under the carcover, since the car cover should be waterproof

I was stuck in hail on the highway once, and my car didn't get any damage. The biggest problem I had was that my driver side window wouldn't go up all the way, so I got hit with some hail, but no damage to me either.

How big was it? The stuff we had at my complex was large grape-size. None hit the TA at my grandma's house as far as I know.

Naa, it wasn't anywhere near that size. Little bit smaller than a golf ball.
