I plan for it to be my weekend racecar, and would like it to be as light if not lighter than a corvette Z06.

Remove all ac. use abs delete, bmr tubular K-member, remove spare tire and jack. remove all emissions if able. Remove back seats theres a start all that might drop you 100lbs. i would get it weighted first to get a base line and then find out what your need to remove i know there are some sites that give the weight of almost all the parts.

Yeah, this one...Drag racing tech. There is a whole sticky about it. My car for example weighs 3100 lbs in daily driver form. Still have stock leather seats, radio, stock k-member, stock hood, and it's a t-top car. Here is the link to the weight reduction sticky.
