Thats kind fo cool. I would never do that though.

Thats almost as funny as me seeing my friends Brvada pulling a huge fishing boat with tandam axels. Man you could really feel that thing.

Never mind, I got the PM sent out, seems I was having software issues that wouldn't allow the window to pop open... LOL

And I already have 2 car loans(1 for the 70 SS396 and 1 for the 2000 SS) so I can't get a loan for a truck if I wanted to. Next to my old 91 454SS pickup, this car is actually the best tow vehicle I've had. But I will take donations towards the truck fund if you guys really want to toss something in.
BINGO. I'm thinking about doing the same thing because I like fishing, don't have a truck, can't afford one, and I like f-bodies. However, for now I'm stuck with a Plymouth Acclaim with a 100 hp engine. It is rated at 2,000 pounds but I'm sure that is at a maximum of 30 MPH, lol. What is the towing capacity for a V8 f-body anyway?

You remind me of a customer I delivered a Z06 to. Guy said he wanted a hitch.
Do I bust him in the nose, blow the sale, or price the hitch?

I sold the car skirted the issue and showed him where parts department was located. He returns for service with a friggen Mountain bike hanging off the back of HIS ZO6.

Thats the beauty of living in a free country I guess. Sometimes it sucks but other times it is refreshing. I saw a lifted LT1 Trans Am the other day so to each his own I guess.

BTW, I read a review about the '93-'02 f-bodies only being rated at 1,000 pounds towing. Is there an error here? The reason I ask is because my little piece of **** Acclaim is rated at 2,000 pounds and it has a 100 hp 4 cylinder in it. You would think a V8 f-body would be rated at AT LEAST 2,000 if that car is.

You need to take into consideration the suspension ratings. These towing capacities don't necessarily have to do with the horsepower of the car... just if the vehicle can handle it itself suspension wise. Difference also in tongue rating and the actual load being pulled.

IIRC, tow hitches were a factory option on third gens, I can't imagine they could handle more than 50Lbs though with their weak engines/bodies

Now all you need is a grill guard/push bar on the front of the car, and a gun rack in the cargo area.

LOL, I think what I'm going to do is sell the Acclaim and get a S10 or a Dakota or something like that to pull the boat with. I found a decent '99 Dakota with 105,000 miles on it for like $3,000 so I guess I'll do that instead. I'm not sure how heavy the boat and trailer is but it is a 19.5 foot boat with a 175 Mercury outboard. Would a V6 Dakota or S10 be able to handle that?
