Cool, mine was made in Dec. Guess that means it FOR SURE has all the 01 goodies (better lifters, LS6 clutch, tighter clearances, ect. ect.)

Mine is one of the early builds (September 2000), and it has the LS6 intake, and (had) an LS6 clutch.

How long did the clutch live and how was it driven and how did it die? I have 80K highway miles that an older guy put on mine and it seems to still grab hard as hell and I dont beat on it. Wondering how long it should last.

It was somewhere around 65K the stock cluth started slipping like crazy and I replaced it with the LS7 unit. Car was daily driven for 4 years, and autocrossed regularly for 3 years. No drag strip passes, however.

What caused you to first realise it was slipping? (highway gear? 1-2 shifts? top of gears?)

I got on it hard at a stop light. The clutch slipped through 1st and 2nd under full acceleration. I never noticed it on the highway, but I replaced it pretty quick after it started going.
