Does your stock 10-bolt humm/whine any?
#24
Well, I took my dad's GF for a ride (she didnt hear it) and my friend JR (400whp+ GTO owner) for a ride in it and he said it was VERY MINIMAL and he could barely hear it. I am going to assume that its just fine and I over-reacted to a bit of whining and the shop really did a good job re-using my 80K mile gears and keeping them pretty damn quiet apparently.
I did notice they did not put in the 2-4oz of GM addative and I have a "rusty screw" sound backing up (I always wondered wtf that meant: "rusty screw"...well now I know, lol.) I know the GM addative will fix this, but might it also get my tiny bit of whine to dampen down some or is that wishful thinking? (PS. I have a torsen for those who didnt already know/guess).

One final thought here: How's about actually looking in the forum titled Gears and Axles ? Found a vast array of 10 bolt knowledge there in like 15 seconds , duh.
And this thread is also done
