Default I hate Valve springs and keepers!

I would just like to start off by saying, God forbid im in a nursery,Church,Elementary school whatever, and some one show me a picture or just mention the word ls1 valve springs cause I will have a flashback and begin Swearing and Punching Babys!(haha Dane Cook).

Im so glad im done with that ****! I build a boat in a bottle in 10th grade for a project, Its got nothing on changing springs with the motor still in the car! Good news is I should have her running tonight.

Sorry guys im venting LS1 Valve Springs

Ditto, right tools are awesome. What I did in addition was stick a harddrive magnet to the tool so when the keepers popped off they went straight to the magnet and not all over the engine bay.

I had the tools, the valve spring compressor ( the cheap one though) and a Magnet, They are not that hard just tedious and time consuming. I did them all in one go so i was worn out by the time I got done. it took about 4 hours to do. My leakdown compressor was being a real pain in the butt also.

Your problem is highlighted.

Get the right tools. I think I can do mine in maybe 2 hours at the most now assuming Im not pulling the valve seals, also. That isnt even with the Crane compressor.

That's why I'm changing the heads at the same time I have absolutely ZERO intention of doing the springs, I could imagine myself breaking many an expensive objects in my garage and being committed by my neighbors

CJD, where are you going to have your's tuned? Or are you self tuning? I am trying to find a place ever since foff667 stopped tuning
