I hope the people that stole it also burn up in a fire at some point.

That is my version of justice.

funny you say that. some guys broke into/burned a car i had about 10 years ago and about a month later they were all fighting in their apartment across from my bldg and killed one dude and set the place on fire. the couple that made it out ended up going to jail, and the other couple of them were in the burned apt.

Man, I couldn't imagine what you're going through right now. I just bought my car (99 TA) and if anything like that happened to me I don't know what I would do.

I'd be pissed off, sad.. with a feeling of revenge against someone I don't even know. That's why I shouldn't have a gun or a collection of knives because I'd do HORRIBLE things to anyone I saw ******* with my car.

I believe thieves should have their hands cut off if found guilty. I believe the system is so fucked up.

But anyways, apologize about my rant. But I am truly sorry this happened to you my friend. I hope nothing but a horrible DEATH to those who did this to you, and happiness to you, somehow...

Sorry to hear what happened to your TA. Remember, you don't have to accept what insurance offers you. There is a negotiating process involved. Your car was prob worth much more than the payoff on the loan. Don't let them hose you.

i was thinking about this earlier. I have a private road. You cant get to my house unless you know its there and how to get there. Hers a few pics of my road

kinda crappy cause i wasnt trying to get the road but still. I think of of my "friends" did it. I know a guy that had a suburban 350 with a scratched vin and he was also the last one to see my car. I hope to god for his sake he didnt steal my car. There was no engine, transmission, wheels, or rear body panels on the car. Which is weird cause the quarters had little dents in them. I found a TA im buying and a corvette i may buy. But still, ill always remember this car as my Trans Am. There wont be as much love for my next car. My C5 will get plenty but thats two different situations.

Just a quick question... are these cars really that easy to steal? Is the chip in the key that easy to get a copy of? Are they hot-wiring the cars? I'm not expert on stealing cars but I thought if you didn't have the correct key to the car the computer will not let it run?

If your friend is driving a car w/ a scratched off VIN, I would maybe look in his direction. If you live on a private road, I would think someone would know that there was something worth stealing at the end of that road.

+1 on checking out that scratched VIN man, thats shady business.

I've seen a couple of these stolen F-bod threads.. this sucks so much more than most other cars. Our cars are getting rarer and the majority left on the road are beat up and end up in the hands of young richard petty's who telephone pole the damn things. It's not like having a Mustang GT or some daily driver stolen. Theres tons of them out there, but we got the last and the best of the F-bodies.

Thinking I might have my ignition wires moved around a bit when I have my steering column apart, I'm a paranoid like that.

If my car was burned I would have rather not known or wanted to see it. Just seeing it burned would have broke my hearth even more. I would have prefered someone srtip my car than burn it but having both done to it that is just to much for me to handle.

VERY TRUE...When my grand national got stolen 4 months ago at first they only offered me 6k for it. But after some haggling they gave me 11k for her. Which was almost exactly what i had in it.

Show them what a car similar to your is going for. and if they still don't budge tell them to take what they are offering you and buy the exact same car. This worked very well for me.

But if its already settled, just try to look at the good of whats come of this: C5 and another T/A
