I've done it before.......however some of the guys at work like to sit right behind them and you CAN"T see them untill you go sailing by at which point you would not have a good day. And since most of the time they put them in towns where the speed limits are like 30 mph, you would have a bad day for sure!

There's a stretch of hwy out here where they drop the speed limit down to 45 and there's a couple of those signs hanging out on either side. After a while the people with radar detectors assumed that there detector in that area was going off because of the signs, so they would fly through there ignoring the beeps from there detectors. When the cops figured out how to capitalize on this by hanging out shooting radar behind them, i swear there were three people pulled over on either side of the highway for at least a month.
The troy police department made a lot of money in those double fine zones.

My town has one, and it's set up in a different place everyday. I would usually floor it if the coast was clear (though never getting up to the speeds mentioned here), and I think a lot of other people were doing it too, because after a few weeks they started hiding cop cars with dummies dressed up as cops (my town has more cop cars than cops) behind them. Scared the crap outta me!

a few years back in my 4.3 V6 chevy caprice, i saw the sign, turned around after 2 miles and pegged it, it said 17mph, speedo was pegged so im guessing it was 117mph...

a few times in my 98 T/A i would go from a dig and watch it skip numbers and flash

the ones ive seen in northern VA say "SLOW DOWN" after u reach 5+ the speed limit... needless to say, it always says that as i pass it.

I used to do that a lot until the novelty of it wore off. Every once in a while, if I'm comming home late at night, I'll still see how high I can get it to go.

I use them to verify if my speedo is correct..its always 3 - 5 miles off and my car is mostly stock? oh well, cant win them all.

The ones around here don't give tickets out. I think they just put them out to get a feel for what the general speed people travel at is to see if they need more enforcement in that area. A lot of times they are on side streets around here in the suburbs because parents probably complained because there are always crazy high schoolers speeding by.

I never see any but more than likely i would proboly haul *** by it. When i was younger with no car, id fly by one on my four wheeler they had sitting in my neighborhood everyday for about 2 weeks, sad thing is the atv only topped out at 67 so i never got to see what the sign was capable of. I swear im gonna steal one of those signs one day and use it for my presonal enjoyment .

i was always curious about them i have done it many times but someone told me they have a camera in them that will record the traffic so i got afraid to try it out since my new mods .usually theirs on the road infront of work 1 mile straight and usually no traffic oo its so tempting

ours down here dont but they tend to put them up where the speed limit drops 10 ie 45 -35 . And they'll get ya too . Had that **** happen to me one night got me right as the speed limit dropped. Sad thing is I worked with the cop who gave me the ticket. We have a beach down here thats not ours but HPD likes to think its ours and we had a very ignorant drunk service member raising hell. Well me and this cop bullshitted about the incident for a few minutes when we were done he is like well here is ur ticket.
