I laugh at all the haters here. I have both a 2000 Z28 and a 1990 Vette 'vert...both have 383s in them. The C4 is a absolute bargain right now considering all the performance per dollar. They have their issues and will nickel-and-dime you to death, but I'll vote for going ahead and doing it if it makes you happy...

whats wrong with a c4 with an lt1 or lt4 a decent running lt1 vette will run with an ls1 f-body stock for stock because of the weight difference and the aerodynamic difference and if its an lt4 those were underrated at 330 hp and would probably destroy an ls1 f-body that was stock so why not??

Although, above all else from the Corvette family, the C6 is my favorite, and at this point if I get a vette, it's going to be the C6.

I agree that the C4 looks better than C5, it's actually my favorite vette. I would love to own like a black 95 6-speed.

Most ZR1's ive seen are in the 20-35K range. (there might be some cheaper ones out there, but buying one from a Vette nut is $$$$$$)
They aren't cheap. Basic C4's can be had for very good deals though.
Here is a listing from cars.com, I searched the country for ZR1's, a few regular C4's fell in here too

I test drove a 93 polo green with a 6 speed yesterday. One owner it had high miles however it was kept up and had many suspension, brake, exhaust mods. Surprisingly it moved out real nice almost no differnce compared to my LS1, he just had some minor bolt ons. Loved everything except the playschool plastic interior, door handles are the same I had on my 85 sunbird, yellow guages and just looked really dated. My friends 93 300Z interior still looks pretty nice even after all this time. Not sure if I would dump my LS1 yet however it was a fun *** car to drive, and handled like no other.

My same buddy with the 96 C4 LT4 m6, ran my other buddies 01 SS m6. Both cars are stock. They went twice, from a 1st gear roll. They are pretty much equal drivers, both cars had passengers. I rode in the SS and filmed it. The LS1 was without a doubt, the stronger car.
If anyone can tell me a program to download that will allow me to use my dazzle contraption that transfers videos from my 8mm camera to my PC, I will post it up for all to see. The program it came with sucks. It skips around, and has the sound and video all out of whack 99% of the time.

man this is like the third or fourth thread i've had to say this about
ok here we go
IMHO a nice good condition fbody especially an ls1 is worth more to hold on to.every year that goes by there are less and less good condition cars like ours.on the oposite of that there are a million and a half great condition vette's around.you will ALWAYS be able to find a nice vette.you have to ask your self if you ever want an ls1 f body again will you be able to find one in the condition yours is in.
