Do Z28's Have A Nice Stock Exhaust System??
Im just wondering, do the Z28's come with a good sounding stock exhaust system??? My car's a 2002 Z28 Camaro, incase your wondering.
I bought my car used, and it does have a nice exhaust system to it and i had a friend who used to have an exact camaro as mine, color was a lil darker but the exhaust system looked the same and pretty much sounded the same.
Ive tried lookin under neath the car at the muffler, and dont see a flowmaster or a symbol of any brand on it. So im assuming it's the stock exhaust system.

Stock exhaust on the Z28 sounds like ****, IMO. High pitched, and too quiet. Stock SS/WS6 exhaust isn't really any better.
Go aftermarket. No question.

the sound on a stock z isn't too bad if you're squatted down behind the car
it just wasn't loud or grumbly enough for me. i went corsa on one and gmmg on the other. i bought my lt1 z28 w/ a flowmaster catback on it and it actually sounded really good too.

Stock exhaust barely makes any noise unless you're at 4k+. It's very sad actually. Get a lid and it sounds a bit deeper but hardly any noise. That's why I like the cutout that the previous owner installed. It gives me much better (and louder) sound until I can afford a full exhaust. At that point, the cutout will go away.
It's a shame when you look at a stock F-Body that you can barely hear and a stock Mustang that sounds pretty damn good.

I don't dislike my stock exhaust(SLP Dual/Dual) but it really doesn't do justice for me. Especially when I see another LS1 roll by sounding badass and my car is drown out like its a hybrid or something.
I think i'm gonna go with some Loudmouth...i want to be heard.
But the stock z28 exhaust makes the car sound like a v6 if u ask me.

I have a 2002 with the factory SLP Dual/Dual system. I love the sound and tone of it, especially when you shift from 1-2 gear. It's actually a great sounding exhaust tone, and it's not LOUD loud. It can definitely be heard though. The person that said it's a toned down Loudmouth is exactly right.
