Drive and mod the hell outta that sucker, its what it was made for . If you want to make investments, buy some bonds, those are made for storing...

pretend like you just got 5 years of your life back but youre still the same age as you are now. its 2002 and you just bought a brand new WS6 off the show room floor because its bad *** and you wanted a badass car that the chicks are gonna dig. you didnt blow a ton of money on a depreciating investment in the hopes that some day in 30 some odd years barrett jackson will still have momentum in the muscle car market to be able to make 6 figure off this beauty. LS1's and Fbodys were made to be driven, drive the hell out of it and get your moneys worth now or sell it and get something to really enjoy. if you really wanted something to invest in, i would suggest real estate

Hell, when the motor craps out at 150k miles, ill buy a crate ls7 and throw it in, and ill have 0 miles on it. Remember, its a car, its meant to be driven!

Kevin
agreed...a car that is never driven (unless you're a collector) is just silly. now, if you've got the money to have a couple cars sitting around to look at more power to ya. but if you can only afford to have one hot-rod how much fun are you really going to have wipping the dust off of it while it sits and ages???

remember guys, this car is only 5 years old. it's not some collector car by any means. it's a 2002 SOM WS6, and a sweet/clean one at that. but why hide it?

if you want an investment i've got a safe you can put the money in and burry it in your back yard. probably get a better ROI that way too!!! LOL

cars are not investments

i think many of you are missing the point. i dont think too many people are saying dont mod/drive it for an investment. they are just saying that they think it would be a shame to "destroy" or whatever you call it a perfect car, and likely/arguably the most desired 4th gen. fbod right down to year, exterior, interior and drivetrain. We are thinking from a morality standpoint, more so as so people 20 years from now can see it in about the same shape it sits now.... not from a standpoint of making $ although i guess thats possible too, but certainly not the point because who cares, im never selling it anyways, so it would just be money made on paper, not in $ i actually get...

Generally cars tend to be a terrible investment, however you have a highly desirable combo and could likely see this going up in value. However I am one of those people that believe to truly enjoy a car you have to drive it. Sure it may not be as valuable or whatever in the future. But I can likely guarentee the enjoyment you will derive from enjoying your automobile for years to come will far outweigh a garage queen that never sees the light of day and only acts as bragging rights. Cars are meant to be driven and occasionally garaged, not the other way around.

I may be the luckiest guy on here getting my WS6 that had 74,xxx on the clock for 4500 bucks that had a SES light that made some guy freak- it was the Cat which was covered by the 8 year 100,000 mile warranty.

You did have one hell of a find though.

That car is a jewel for sure! If you do mod it, make sure it's only bolt on stuff you can change out if need be. That car is going to be worth some money in a few years.

Drive it, mod it, get your moneys worth. No need to let it rot in a garage somewhere. It may be worth a few more dollars down the road but who knows.

I bought my car a few years ago in similar condition. It had a few more miles, 10,000, but was still 100% mint showroom condition. At first I didn't want to change anything on it and then I decided to just do a couple of things after the first year or so (catback, ZR1's). Well, as time went on, more and more mods kept happening and now my car has quite a few mods. But, I'm glad that's the route I chose because I'm completely happy with the car, rather than still having a stock car that I wish I could change some stuff on. I drive the car, but only about 800 miles/year or so, so it stays in excellent condition. I think I spend more time cleaning it than driving it...lol. Point being: if you're a real car enthusiast, it's really hard not to give in to the modding addiction over time. I say drive the car, have fun with it, do what you think should be done to it (if anything at all)...and most of all, take care of it. All of those things combined are what will make you happy in the long run.

Wow! I am Jealous too? But what a conundrum! Leave stock? Mod? Trade for a modded car thats already done right? Sell at a profit?

If looking for a prediction down the road of your cars future value it could be analogous to an 86/87 Grand National with 2k miles. Probably worth double the list after 20 years? Just a frame of reference on whether it should be modded or not in my book

It obviously comes down to what makes you happy. You can obviously afford it or you wouldn't have it in the first place. Personally I could not justify having a car like that sitting around as a bank account.
Considering the GN anology above, the same money in the S&P would have netted a 15 fold gain and if you had it in Microsoft, you could have retired after 10 years, bought any car in the world and dated Jessica Alba.
Wow! I think I just talked myself into selling all of my cars!

Enjoy your car, thats what they are for. I'll give you 30k for it by the way .
