i still say you have a problem with your torque converter. if you are at a dead stop and mash your foot to the floor and your tires don't spin, you have a serious issue with your torque converter. i have a nearly stock 2.73 geared A4 and if i tap the gas less than half way from a stop, i break the tires loose. if i hold it there, i just spin and spin, and i have 275/40/17 tires on heavy corvette wheels.

hey floor it in a puddle while you are rolling slow with your foot off the breaks and see if they spin if they dont then its not traction controll and you have some issues

Wow, never heard such a question or seen such a problem...

I run street tires on mine, nothing fancy and I can break loose in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with my M6. You should definitely be able to light 'em up.

Its probly that your giving it too much brake
or its not going into first gear,
or your TC is fucked, in which case, 3500 stall will make you roast your tires off
Check under the hood, make sure its a v8... if you dont have a switch next to your fog lights, you dont have tcs

My z28 only spins a little when i floor it, but when it was fully stock it never spun. In my dads old SS, the tires would spin for days when i stepped on it, and it was a 2000. You might wanna make sure nothin is wrong with it. But like it was said earlier.. hookin up is a good thing.

My 99 does the same thing. It is a too much brake problem. i dont have tcs either. I can stand on it with brakes and it'll spin SOMETIMES. the theshold on the brakes is a little touchy to say the least. My rpms will go to a little over 2000 like yours and do nothing. It embarrassed the hell outta me too. did it in front of the neighbors (DODGE FANATICS). Before i left Ky to go to the military i only had my 68 with trumps all he had. i came home this may from deployment and found a new charger sitten in his drive way. He didnt know I now have LS1 power. so i brouhght the new toy out to punk his *** and while he watched i couldnt muster a simple smoky.
Now that the dead horse is beat beyond recongition is anybody up for glue sniffing?

have you ran your car in the 1/4, cause i have about the same mods as you, and i feel if i cant smoke my tires, then maybe i will have a slow time.

no, sorry. I believe the clostest track I've heard of in my side of Va is several hours away from what ive heard (just plain lazy i guess). But, as the general cenus here is thinking, it is more likely a case of too much brake force. If so it shouldnt hurt performance at all in the fact that we have a hard time burning out. As long as we can some how get the tires nice and sticky.
Usually i would say that a lack of power is the problem but here im not so certain it is.

yeah guys the problem ended up being the brakes they are touchy and i was on them way to hard, the car roasts em just fine. but it likes to hook from a stop with some slight sway in the back end but not much
