you run it up to about 72-75 (depending on gearing) and punch it. for me the bottom of 3rd is around 71-72 mph. at that point it wont down shift and falls on its friggin face lol. i cant wait to get rid of the damn thing (the a4). although i felt good when the dino tech did a pull on it and punched it at about 65mph. the look on his face was priceless when the rear end hopped and he started to smoke the tires on the roller lol. oh and i put down 319hp/328tq w/ the mods in my sig. somethings not right.

That's normally the case, but it's not always true.

unless you have a stock LT1 in there, you got shafted by the dyno guys.

it depends where the 1:1 ratio is in the trans. in this case, with a 6 speed, its 4th. thats how you dyno.

my 2002 SS, with an A4, put down 310hp/322ftlbs with 1500 miles on the odometer.

I did the 3 pulls in 3rd gear and got up to almost 140mph until i bounced off the rev limiter......that scared the poopoo out of me, especially when the car jerked a little.

i hope to be going to the dyno again in a couple weeks with a tune by Slowhawk. I have since added the GMMG exhaust, ported TB, TB bypass, and bellows. I hope to at least get to 320-330hp after the tune.......i now have 5977 miles on the odometer.

should be interesting.

Was that with the converter locked or unlocked? My old Vigi 3800 that went bad was slipping 35-40hp unlocked vs locked. Even with it locked it was still slipping bad. The tuner should be able to lock the converter up in 3rd when he makes the pull which if he didn't do this could explain the lower numbers. But remember a dyno is for tuning, take it to the track an increase in MPH shows real power gain.

Ewww....Speedquest is reputable shop with imports....thats about it. Take your car to Speed Inc. and have it dyno'd there. They know what they are doing. I took my TBSS there and with just a tune and CAI I dyno'd 348HP/366TQ and a 13.76@101 in the 1/4.

I was just thinking to myself...an LS1...at SPEEDQUEST? I didn't even think they'd let a Domestic park in the lot!

Mine was done in 3rd gear. I don't think it was accurate, though I am putting 290 lbs. of torque to the wheels.

The converter being locked does make a difference, and my pulls were all done in 3rd without locking up, so I could be anywhere from 290-330 tq.
