I was under the impression it was, some one told me its not. please explain what the differences are? only 97-98 C5 I know the LS6 intake and better cams came along a few years later.

The intake is box is different. And i think that the F-body LS1's are cable driven throttle bodies and the Vette's are electronic. I can't be certain as i've never owned a LS1 F-body. I do think the EGR was not on the LS1's in '98+ though.

Well, the corvette has a freer flowing exhaust, but engine wise, yes.

Same cam/intake manifold, different exhaust manifolds... IIRC Think the tb is the same size, just drive by wire.

Throttle body [ETC], Oil Pan, and Camshaft are the biggest differences and the lack of EGR on the Vettes. The cam differences are not enough to show a performance gain. The F-body cam has more lift but less overlap.

'98 LS1 is a '98 LS1. Some of the accessories are different vette to F-body (TB cable vs wire, exhaust system, and no EGR for the Vette), otherwise the engine is the same.

search is your friend. 6 bolt mains, and only one cam. we arent ricers here and we dont need more cams like ford does to make a fast car.

Everyone needs to get into the " New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech" and read the stickies in there. All of this info has been gone over countless times.

Everyone needs to read JRP's sticky.

I hadn't tried the search button in weeks. It's rarely working.
