I think most people on here have a weird way of looking at the prices on their cars....most people on here for example, would never sell their car for less than 20k but at the same time would never pay more than 17k......sometimes it dont make sense.
Offer them 20k, work your way up to 22k, leave them your number and walk away....you will probably get a call the next day

Stealerships...just be glad you're not in the market for all powerful GT500 with its $30,000+ mark up.
Back on point, you must negotiate. If the car is still there at the end the month, try to make another offer then.

It really all depends on a couple of factors.
A. How bad do you want this car? I mean are ya gonna die If you don't get it? Is this your dream car?
B. How good is your credit? If it's crappy ( like mine ) chances are the only way your gonna be able to get financing is through a dealership. Which of course means you will pay more for it but if you want that car that bad you'll do it just like I did. Sure I'm paying over $400 a month for a car I only drive on weekends....But I had to have the Hawk!!!

Depending on where your at that price wouldn't be too bad. Out here in SoCal thats the price I paid for my 02 ws6, but that was four years ago. The dealerships will keep a trade in car for about 90 days if they don't get close to what they are looking for they will sell it to a wholesaler. I think as long as you offer more than what the wholesaler buys it for they will sell it to you.
