Oil is it okay to use synthetic?

Default Oil is it okay to use synthetic?

Right now i currently have 5w-30 in my 2000 m6 ss and i want to go to either royal purple synthetic of mobile one and i was curious if i was able to just go straight to synthetic oil or do i have to do something first?

If you plan to switch to synthetic, you will need to do about $4,500 worth of upgrades to the engine to prepare it for the swap. Otherwise, your enging will likely fail within 27 miles of useage with the first batch of synthetic.



All you need to do is drain the old oil and fill with fresh synthetic and a new filter. Simple as that.

Use the Royal purple, or look for some German castrol 0W30 oil- it is the best oil for a ls1. A few autozones carry the oil, if you can't find it you can get it from WS6 store.

is there a specific reason why you want to change to a synthetic type of oil over what your running now?
