I've got huge fingers and the thin bird wheel, so i bought a fat black cover for my wheel that looks factory from wal-mart. Best of both worlds now:decent wheel and radio controls

I really do like the pre-'00 Camaro wheel better.

Another nice wheel in the one in my '02 Monte Carlo. It's got a fatter grip like the older Camaro wheel.

Both are ugly. I like the newer one better though. Given the choice, i'd try to do either a 00-05 grand am wheel or the new three spoke (G6, Solstice, C6 Z06...etc) wheel. I looked at both mounting points and neither look like they will fit without significant modification.

Exactly thank you. Now does anyone know if I can put a pre 00 wheel on an o2 without significant modification? Someone said yes and something about having to block off a few wires, but thats it. So anyone else agree? If so I'm in the market for a GOOD condition 98/99 Camaro steering wheel.

Whoa I hate the old ones, there ugly and cheesy plus you can bend them at the top. I love the wheel control design wheel. I don't use the buttens much but it looks 10 times nicer and have a thicker feel.

I don't really like either one. I do like the buttons just because its easier, but neither are that great. One time I had a friend riding in the back seat and he mentioned how he does like the wheel either (98 one w/o buttons). He said, "This is such a sweet car, but that steering wheel is ugly."

What are you talking about? The pre-'00 wheel is the thicker one. How could the Pontiac/newer Chevy one "feel" thicker when it isn't?

Appearance is subjective, just have to agree to disagree on that one.

Well I wanted to keep the airbag, but it is just extra weight, and we all gotta die someday might as well be in the SS. So lets see pics of after market steering wheels you guys got?

I like my wheel, I usually have only one hand on the wheel anyway.
It's a habit I have from driving manuals, and from the V6 Camaro I have, before I replaced the tranny so I usually have one hand near the radio anyway.

I like the look and feel of the inside my Camaro. Leather panel doors, seats, shifter, steering wheel etc.
BTW. I like the leather wrapped steering wheel with all the sound system buttons.

Not sure but I will have to say my wheel has a thicker "feel" not that is thicker then my buddies 98 Z . I love my wheel compared to his two spoke flimsy thing. Maybe just the texture. No offense man.

No problem. To each his own. Personally, I think the newer Chevy/Pontiac wheel feels thin and flimsy. The older Camaro wheel looks and feels much more sturdy and sporty to me.

Maybe but I can grab the top my buds wheel in 98Z and shack it like its bending you know becouse its only a two spoke and the spokes are along the bottem. Seems like my wheel is sturdyer with the spokes about in the middle and bottem. Plus his is to shiny for me I have the nice leather texture. Nice car by the way.

'00 bird - I hate the factory steering wheel. Would much prefer the new 3 spoke design.
