I love the GTO's but they are freakin expensive. I'm prob gonna be in the market for an lsx car next summer and was wondering if it is worth the extra coin for the Goat. Are they as much of a pain in the **** as fbodys to work on? I had an LT1 car and did a head swap, damn good thing I had access to a lift.

GTOs are better DDs imo. better build quality and ride. theres very good deals on them if you look around. they do have a ton of room under their hoods.
while i like my GTO i still like my fbody more. it just has that killer styling and kickass look. i'll probably be selling my GTO in about 2 yrs.
what your looking to do is a major factor in choosing one or the other.

I had an 04 gto and now a 2002 Z28. The gto as mentioned before does make a better dd, the interior and ride quality is alot more liveable. However the Z is faster, looks sportier and has alot more personality then the goat. So i guess its up to the person what kinda car they like more.... can't go wrong with either one in my book.

The truth is I'd rather have a GTO, it won't be heavily modded until I get out of college, but my budget will most likely force me to get an fbody. Which by all means isn't a bad thing at all Unless of cource gulp....I can only afford a mustang....gulp.....

I've owned an 04 GTO and an 01 Z28. As has already been stated, if your looking for a sweet DD'r then its hard to go wrong with the goat. However, if you want to do some track time and DD, your really better off with the Fbody.

I drove an A4 04 Goat and I defintally like my M6 SS better. Wheel hop sucks . I did like the interior of the goat better but the goat just felt slugish compared to the SS, but that was probably due to it being an A4. I still want to drive an LS2 M6 goat but I havn't been able to yet. Anyone in the KC area wanna let me borrow theirs for a day

gto
im going have to disagree, the gto ls1 has the same engine as the f body, but u are right the rears are differnet and there is some issues with wheel hop, which can be cheaply adverted, i love my gto while all i ever did was test drive a ls1 fbod or 2 i owned a lt1 T/A I love my gto and how much does a ls1 f bod weigh? my goat according to GM weighs 3725. The gto rides much better smoother than any f bod ever rode in, yes they are much more expensive but there worth it in my opinion. And the gto feels stronger than any f bod i ever drove and i oncve was going buy an 01 SS which it ran good real good, any way thats my thoughts on it

if it was possible to get a new GTO in Canada, i wouldve gotten one instead of my hemi ram and 00 Z28, however the ram is a nice DD and the Z28 is a super fun car
GM thought the new GTO's were gonna come out flying off the show room floors just because it had the "GTO" name plate and they didnt feel they would be able to supply the US and canadian market, so they never registered it as a car for canada.
i also wanted the new GTO to park beside my 68 GTO which i am currently restoring.
i still want a new GTO. it has a classy look to it, but, you'd still be happy with either i bet
