What makes the LS1 get such good gas mileage?

I get crappy gas mileage too. Bout 17 mpg is my guess I guesss i should check. I'm seafoaming the gas as I type and gunna do the oil and top end here soon so hopefully that'll help.

ive only had it a few hours but i did about 410 miles today and i averaged about 20-24 mpg with romping on it a bit, all highway maybe 20 mins on street
