This is assuming an M6. Here's my take.... 18-22 MPG is average for most cars (sedan, 2 door, sports). At least this is what i think is average (i could be completely off). The LS1 is a fairly large engine w/ 8 cylinders which i would ASSUME would gobble up fuel like mad w/ the amount of output it can create (and the way we often tend to drive it).... so why such good gas mileage and at the same time and still be a beast of a performance vehicle?
I mean, 22-25 MPG in the city seems amazing to me for such a powerful engine but 31 on the highway is a bit more believable due to the tall 6th gear. Any takes? Am i just that out of the loop when it comes to MPG and we actually DON'T get the good of mileage? Or is it true?

The car is very streamline has good gearing and lots of power so you never have to downshift even going up a huge hill in 6th with the ac on. It takes minimal power to keep it going and i am at like 1,400rpms at 65mph in 6th where a camry orsomething would be aroung 2,600 or so

I seafoam on a regular basis as well as keeping my engine tuned up and I get exceptional gas mileage...Thats my secret to success
Lack of mods might also play a factor

How the hell are you guys getting such good gas mileage?

I typically get 12.5 - 13.5mpg with 90% city driving. My car has really been sucking fuel for the past year. I used to get 18-19.5mpg 80% highway 20% city 2 years ago when I worked further away, but that still isn't nearly as high as you guys have been getting.
BTW, I have an A4 with 3.23 rear and I don't romp on it much.

Powerful, yet efficient fuel injected engine, coupled with a moderately low weight, and and the right combination of gearing (6th gear + ring & pinion). I am thinking 6th gear is a 0.5 ratio, isn't it?
