I'm really glad I didn't have that car when i was 16, my dad made me start out on 4cyl. avenger, then I saved and got a v6 camaro, then the SS.
Thank your parents for LETTING you not start out in an LS1 lol. Plus, it's alot better to you when YOU actually buy it.
Yeah...my parents said they'll help me out buying my car but I want to buy it all myself. I had around 8 thousand but I decided on getting braces and I had to pay off some other things so I only have a thousand now but hopefully buy 17 I'll have 6-7 thousand which is good enough for a decent f-body.

It's a rare day when I can pull the b.s. flag on chocotaco. I've driven to and fro california and texas a couple of times and can tell you there's 80 limit zones for hundred mile stretches.

There is hope, I bought my 98 Turbo Z with less than 5k miles on a crate LS6 with a ton of extras for 8k.

I just picked up a 93 z28 as posted in my sig, and I will be 19 this month. The first car I drove was a 1993 s10 with a 4 cylinder, it was great, couldn't get any tickets in it, the top speed was governed at 88 mph. Then I drove a 91 integra with a 5 spd, did some stupid **** in it like lots of burnouts, and put a hole in the transmission because the diff gears let loose on the street. That car was completely stock...pos japanese products. My z28 is a great car, I wanted one for a while, my buddy has a 68 Camaro SS, that is a little custom, billet wheels, lowered, etc. I have almost spun around in the z due to bald tires, I would not recommend having one as a first car.

Oh yeah, something I need to ask. Do I need to add myself to my parents insurance or do anything like that?

Depending on their willingness and kind of car they drive, if it's cheaper to put you as a primary driver on one of their cars, and them the primary on the Camaro with you as a secondary driver I would look into that.
If you have a good agent they will find you the cheapest route.

Well, the Camaro I'm looking for when I get my license (next June) so that's not a major thing right now.

The car is a 97' Sentra POS. I don't know which parent is primary or if my sister is secondary. But I'll check into that. Right now I'm not on the insurance though.
