Honestly I think it ruins the car.
Stock Firehawk wheels are the best no questions, these things scream, to me "I was too cheap to buy after market, so I found these in my junk 3rd gen pile down by the outhouse so I'll use them"
Sorry for the harsh honesty.

I don't care for them honestly either (even if they were black with a high polished lip)

What might look good, and would be something I've never seen on a 4th gen is the Ronal R-15 wheel. This is the wheel that was offered on the 3rd gen Firehawk cars, and it comes in a 17x9.5 size.
Here is a pic of the wheel on my buddy's car (RPM Mark). Being that your car is black though, I'd get the inlays painted in black to match:

Keep in mind that these are replacing painted firehawk rims, not chrome. These are 4 front wheels, so they stick out further, I think that 4 rear wheels would probably fit up better. Yea without a spacer on the front I would be grinding my calipers on the back of the wheels. I was thinking black centers, but now I'm not sure. I have this posted on several boards, and for the most part it's a no, but there are some people that like it. The reason the sidewalls are so high is that these were off a Buick T-Type, and he has 255/50's on em. I think with a lower sidewall and a drop on the suspension of 2" it would look cool. I still don't know though. Maybe just sell the rims and buy some aftermarket.

I have considered doing this for a while, even though many people have advised me not to. I have a like new set of 16" tires that I don't want to waste and I don't want to drop the cash on a new set of tires for my 17's. Will you take a picture down the side of the car for me so I can see how far they stick out? I would appreciate it. Good job on trying something different. I like it. I hear those are light wheels

Yes I can get a picture for you.(Gotta get some batteries) If I had 4 rear wheels (set in more)instead of 4 front wheels(offset out further) they would look better. Also the massive amount of sidewalls 255/50 don't help on these either.

I liked those in 1987 or 1988 and still like them. I think they look good in the pics you have. I'd have to see them in person to know for sure. They are far from sucking. Funny how different opinions are. I would say the younger generation don't like them as much as us "older" guys. I think the wheels on the 92 Firehawk looked like crap then and now.

I agree 100%. Those red ones look ugly to me. I like the GTA wheels.

hmm. you know it's kind of cool, but another part says mexican whip. or a negro ride (not to be racist) i think maybe with a different color they would look pretty good. it's neat something you don't see everyday. keep them
