mine doesn't do that. it's pretty accurate, but my DD (98 sunfire) is horrible. i never let that get below 1/4 tank since it left me stranded and was still reading 1/8 tank.

it's funny that this thread is about 3 years old and still no fix

Mine goes about 30 miles until it reaches the F. Once it gets to a half tank it drops fast but when I think it is almost empty I fill it up and it only takes 13 gallons. In my car the check gauges light means you have 3.5 gallons left.

ya mine does this crap...i wish i would have known...i bought the car and it had a empty tank i told the guy u guna fill it up right?... so we go to the gas station and he puts gas in it till the needle sits on F...so i get like 150miles to the "tank" im thinking it was the fulll 15 gallons... im like wtf i know this car gets more then 10MPG it aint forced induction!!!! so i go fill it up and realize that bitch ripped me off!! ON PURPOSE!!

i recalibrated mine and now it is always accurate (with slight variation when sitting on a hill).

if you want to do that, you need tuning software like hptuners.

Like most of you guys, mine takes considerably longer to burn through the first quarter-tank than it does to burn through the last quarter-tank (according to the gauge). I know at 1/4 tank that I better find a gas station!
