Kind of a dumb question, but if I undo the hose in between the gas tank and the fuel pump, will all the old gas drain out? My tanks been sittin for a while and im not about to dump old fuel in a new motor....

It shouldent, i have a pic of the gas tank and cant see where the lowest hose is on it.
Here is the top of a 2002 tank

Might have better luck jumping the fuel pump and disonnecting the line at the rail then pumping the fuel into a container?
EDIT just saw you have a 96 and a 93 so that might not help at all.

Nope, the gas can't drain out of the tank from any of the fuel lines. All the fuel lines enter and exit from the top of the tank at the fuel pump. Without completely dropping the tank or siphoning the gas out, your only choice would be trying what cherryelky305 suggested.

yeah and if you do decide to run it with the pump... I would suggest running it at short intervals. because, it is built to run at a certain PSi with resistance... just a thought..

I'd just remove the pump relay and install a jumper wire to pump the tank dry.
