getting a diesel truck is a really smart idea. look for something about 2-3 years old with a manual trans. should be able to get something for around 20k. i'd pay off any debt you have with the rest, then mod the car.

Whats the fun in that? Although it would save a lot of busted knuckles around my place. I like the satisfaction of starting with a stock car and improving it myself at my own pace. But there are days I wish I would have bought a h/c car to start with, cause like you said you can save some serious cash going that route.

If you have 30K I would pay off all debt, and If dont already have a house I would put a fat down payment on one.

^^^ def. I'd rather have the house, especially w/ $30k. Realestate appreciates in value, cars depreciate (well most do). Afterall, you can take the ladies back there(just get a hottub )

dont be stupid and spend most of ur 30k on a dam car!!! put a down payment on a house. find some buddies to live with u to help pay the mortage. maybe in a few years it will be worth more than u bought it. and maybe u can make some money. putting more money in a car leads to ...more tickets, higher risk of theft, accidents, etc... i dunno JMO
