Haha black fang, thats a pretty nice collection of late 90's muscle you got there. I like all the Cobras, I just never remembered to consider them when purchasing my LS1. Plus, you are obviously an unbiased guy on the boards.

hey i don't want for it to sound like i am betraying ls1's but it would depend on what looks you like best imo. the cobra feels more refined and smoothe but not as fast as the ss. i do believe they handle better than stock ss's due to the independant rear suspesion. i just like the camaro looks better but yah...and stock for stock.. i dont believe that the ls1 is that much more superior. yes faster but not by a whole lot lol.

As for being unbiased, some of the mustang guys on other sites don't think that. Hey, I guess the truth sometimes hurts All I know is I spent more money for my Cobra to be faster than my LS1, but it sure will take 1/4 of what I put into the Cobra to severely change that.

well imo, if you are comparing a 2001 cobra to an ls1 ss, i'd say the ss handsdown. now most of the guys have mentioned this already, but if it were to be 03/04 cobra, then that is a different story. and even so i would think about it twice. decide which ever best you like since it will be YOUR ride!

No such thing as a 2000 or a 2002 Cobra.
Any 99+ body CObra has IRS. Last ones with a live axle was the 98.
That settled. I would go with the SS.
Besides the 03/04 cobra the only ones I would get is a 93 and a 98 and that would only be base on looks and preferance, not performance at all.
