What I would like to see on top of everything is a fall ball viscosity test (before and after 3000 miles). I mean if it's the same after it's been run hard, then there would be no problems with me buying it, and would show me it does the same thing as Mobil 1. Sorry, Mobil 1 user

hey speaking of big block trucks, i saw a used truck at the salvage yard for sale, in running condition bought from an auction, it had the 8.something liter that came out to be a 502? it was a 2500 chev 4x4. thats an awful big motor, was thinking....would there anyway to make it run? i mean that big of a motor should have some potential.

Bought the supertech synthetic today and did an oil change on my Express 3500.I use M1(15000 mile formula) in this vehicle and had a little left over in a 5 quart jug(1/2 quart).I poured a little of the supertech out and then some M1.The supertech is definitely lighter and thinner when compared to the M1 I regularly use.I'll see what the supertech does in the 3500,it did run quieter after the oil change.I also bought it for my GF's Xterra and will change her oil tomorrow( I normally run M1 15000 in hers as well).
I'm going to stick to the M1 in my WS6 though. The price is great on the supertech syn.5 qt($13) versus the M1 syn.5 qt($26).

Just put it in my LQ4, 6qts of 5w30 and a supertech filter for 18 bucks...cant beat that, and engines running top notch as well.
I noticed the Supertech oil color was a nice rich golden color. Reminded me of Syntec "European Formula"

My boss always told me that Supertech, for the most part, is just Mobil 1 with a Supertech label. I work at Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Express and never really used it due to the fact, I am not going to experiment using a cheap oil in my LS1 and watching it go to ****. I have seen tons of customers come in and get it, although nobody gets the syn oil. Mainly get the conventional only because it is the $19 oil change.
I don't think this has much to do with anything, but if you haven't noticed yet, when you look at the Mobil 1 bottles and compare it to the Supertech bottle's it is the exact same bottle. Same cap, same neck, and same shape. The only thing I have noticed when using the conventional Supertech, is sometimes it seems like the oil comes out all sorts of different colors out of different bottles. Sometimes the oil is light brown and sometimes it is gold.
To each their own, but I am going to stick with my oils of choice. Which if it matters to anybody, I use Mobil 1 and Valvoline.

I have been running it in my daily drivers for the past 3 years (not in my f bodies however)
I swear by it for a cheap oil change, I probably have 80,000+ miles on conventional Supertech oil/filter changes in aprox 4 different cars and NEVER any problems...................
Interesting stuff about the synthetic, maybe I should give it a try in the ole LS1

There has already been quite a bit of research and opinions as well as oil lab analysis reports posted on www.bobistheoilguy.com I seem to remember reading great stuff about it and ran it once between my GC changes. Maybe I should run it regularly. $13 for 5 quarts.

I run SuperTech synthetic 10w30 in my car. Figured I'd give it a try because I already knew WALMART didn't have their own oil refinery, so it wasn't "their oil" no matter what...
You can believe it or not, but the piston slap is all but non-existent when engine is cold. The car has had Mobil 1 in it since new and now has 113,000 miles. Before I changed it I had the LS1 piston slap, which sounds more like a damn knock to me, and now it's all but gone. I know at my local WalMart it seems to go pretty quickly, so I'm not the only one using it.
No oil loss on my high mileage car either.

So far all I've had in my 3800 Camaro is valvoline 10W30. Maybe I should try some of this walmart oil. Manual suggests 10W30 but I've noticed that a lot of you guys use 0W30 in your LS1 engines while the manual calls for 5W30 - any reason why? Would it benefit me to use a lighter weight oil (like 5W30) in my engine at all?

then as it gets warmer the viscosity will change to a 30 w
