Default Thinking about buying this SS.

Someone is selling an 01 SS near me. Car is 6 speed with 108k for $8900. The owner said it only has a CEL for an O2 sensor but other than that the car is pretty much fine. Owner is female.

Opinions? Thoughts?

I say jump on it. Seems like a good deal if the car's in decent shape. To get rid of that CEL, you could always put in some long tubes with new Bosch corvette plugs, and delete the rear 02's.. Kill two birds with one stone.

Oh, and is it stock? If not, what's been done?

Try for $8500.

Sounds like a good deal either way though.

I don't know man... I bought the car in my sig (minus the wheels/tires, shock tower brace, GMMG's) for $14,000. 50,000 miles. The body and interior are showroom perfect.

I would think that the car is worth around 6-7k. Especially higher miles. Unless the body is mint, and I mean MINT -- I do not think its worth it.

The CEL would most certainly be tripped by the fouled O2 sensor. But +1 for having the thing properly diagnosed.

Yeah, I'm gonna try for 8 most likely and go for there. The car looks clean in the pictures but I still need to see it in person obviously.

Thanks for all your input.

I'd try and get it down to $8k or so, but if you can even knock $200 or so for fluids/sensors change, it would still be a fairly good deal.

Those wheels chrome or painted? What you should do is get the vin and take a pic of the rpo codes and see what the history and options on this car are.

Open the drivers door and look at the RPO codes. If it has WU8 as one of them than it is a true SS.

good lord, at these prices, i will be able to buy another high mileage f body in a few years for 5 grand!!! i could care less about the miles on these cars, if it isnt far over 100K, and it has been taken care of. my car has 105k on it, and it runs like an absolute top! Doesnt burn a drop of oil or anything. Hell, if 8900 is too much for a 01 SS with 108K, then 5 grand in a couple years will be easy to get a 100K f body for! Sweet ****!!!!
