Actually we DON'T have Vette engines in our F-BODIES...Vettes came with different cams than F-birds and Camaro's.

Don't forget throttle by wire. We can go on for days about all the small differences but for the most part an ls1 is an ls1.

Sorry mines an 02. I was just pointing out subtle differences. Kinda like saying not the same cuz it has an egr valve. The casting numbers are the same and so are alot of the internal parts.

How do you know that you recieved an LS6 block tho? If you have an 01-02 then I know for sure that you have an LS6 top end. (intake and heads)?
Follow this link, some of the 01-02' came with the LS6 block. Number 12561168 is cast on the block on the back I think. Not easy to get to. The only advantage is a little better oiling. Some say that the bay windows in the block actually make it weaker for building up than the LS1 block.

I know that, and you know that, but if they are asking the original question to begin with, do you think that they know that?

I was on another forum and a guy started a thread about posting your ride. So, he posted his 98 Z28 and said it was a limited collectors edition because it had a Corvette LS1 in it. Of course, I had to correct him and make him feel like an asshat in his own thread. I kind of felt like an ******* doing it, but he's the ignorant one. lol

"Hey! You have a Corvette engine??!"

Then his freind "corrects" him..." you dumb??! Thats a "Special Edition" Firebird...fool..."

You must admit stupid people sometimes make you laugh..!

All 01-02s have the LS6 intake. No fbodies came with LS6 heads. To see if you have the block you have to check the serial number which is on the rear side of the block under the driver side head. You have to get under the car with a flashlight to see it. 15% of 01s and 25% of 02s came with the LS6 block.
