you can find tons of cars for sale in the 5k range. i just paid $3300 for a 02 LS1, paid $5,800 for my 00 that was in amazing shape.. and my bro got a 01 LS1 for $6200
high mileage 98 and 99s can easily be had for this money.

Just be patient and one will come along. This one came up and I wasn't watching the adds close enough. It's close to your price range. If you want a good deal be ready to travela and quick at snagging it up
