set your goal first, then build your motor to suit

LS7 will be WAY over 10k

Okay final idea of mine after thinking about it.
Streetable:
L92
4.065"x4.000"
ETP 240 heads ported
Good size cam
4400 Stall
Ported FAST90

That might be about 11g for motor only

And hooked up to a built A4 you could be making about 550rwhp spray it with ONLY a 100 wet shot and make about 650rwhp thats a fast car for sure!
I am guessing w/ the right tires you could hit a solid 10, and maybe super high 9s. who knows what you could do with a T56!!!

Give Shane a call at Thunder Racing, he is hooking me up with basically the same set up as stated. They have amazing serivie!

Don't waste 10G on your vette lol. Just get a tune up and inspection to make sure nothing is broken, then go get a good complete n2o kit along with fuel system upgrades. You will be going very fast. And if you do spend 10G, don't blow it all on your motor. 10 grand worth of power addtion = broken suspension and transmission very shorty after. Spread out the cash over the whole car if you do blow that much.

Have no info yet on where to buy engine and how to have it build(compression ratio and such)

How would you spend it?

Thanks

You can't just buy the kind of power some people in this thread are talking about for $10K.

People telling you to enter the world of FI with a stock 80K-mile Vette and $10K are not at all being realistic. What about the transmission (and clutch)? The rearend? Suspension? Exhaust? What about install and tune?

You have to be able to get that power to the ground and without destroying the car or its worthless. This pie-in-the-sky FI big-displacement engine car will be getting passed by cam-only LS1's done right.

My advice would be to call a sponsor, but not tell them right off the bat you have $10K to spend. I would ask how much it would cost to get an engine installed and tuned with all supporting mods. Tell them you like the sound of having a LS7, but want to know what it takes and what your options are. You say all that and include "LS7" in your request and you're going to be spending more than $10K.

If you have the car done right, you'll probably end up with a 347 LS1 or maybe a 402 LS2 or even a 418 L92.

Good luck!

Not necessarily a recommendation but just an idea if this is the route you decide to take...

This includes a new harmonic balancer that is required for the optional 8 rib ProCharger belt drive assembly.

Notice that for $9000 of your $10,000, you still have a stock 80,000-mile longblock, an 80,000-mile transmission, no headers, stock IRS, no suspension upgrades, and a ticking time bomb.

EPP is a great sponsor, and I would recommend their work. However, not to speak for them, but I bet they'll tell you the same thing: FI on a stock 80K-mile car isn't reccomended. There are a lot of better options that they'll be happy to share with you.

By the way, the original poster really should have gave his location and what has been done to the car already in his post.

lol it really amazes me how many people here like nitrous. when I think of the word nitrous it reminds me of "Fast & Furious." I am kinda biased, but if it was my opinion I would be more proud of having specifically built true power than using something from a bottle. Yeah, it's the best bang for the money.. only if you can find a place to use it. and then eventually you gotta fill it up.

I thought this idea was tight...
