98 SS 8200 Miles Supercharged Price Check
I found a 1998 SS White A4,one owner, Vortech supercharger, 9200 miles, one owner, making 490RWHP @ 9PSI He wants $17,000.00 I know what the book says, its bad. He has orginal window sticker dyno sheet all receipts for the bloler and intstall.
What would you say would be top dollar for this car? I want to be able to sell it and break even, not looking to make money.
Thanks, Greg

Psh. According to just about every pricing guide that thing is barely worth over 10K. As for the 'mods? Any hot rodder who knows anything about cars knows that 'mods are WORTHLESS when selling the car. This guy is suddenly desperate to get rid of this car, whether to buy the new 'Camaro, a house, the new Challenger, whatever. Use this to your advantage when negotiating; ultimately I would see 17K as the high point of paying, not the starting point, but that's REALLY pushing it...

might only be 9200 miles...but how many runs are at the track wot 1/4 mile at a time! but if its in prestine condition and everythings cool, then thatd be about right with the miles and all, but once you mod something those low miles dont mean ****

Thanks for the replies. The guy won't budge from 17K. I am not going to buy it because I will loose my *** on it when I sell it and I don't keep cars for more than a year. If anyone knows of any good deals on a low milage t top or conv. TA or Z, please share. Must be LS1
Thanks, Greg

$17k isn't out of line for a '98 SS with under 10k miles and modded to that level (assuming all the work was done right, and that's a BIG assumption). You can't worry about KBB prices and the like when buying/selling super low mileage, special interest cars like that. How many mint condition LS1s are left out there with only 9,200 miles? Then making nearly 500rwhp on top of that.
I think paying $15k would be an excellet deal for that car, and even $16-17k would be acceptable if the car looks like a 9,200 mile car should. If you don't want the car, let me know and I'll go check it out.
