New life to a 99 Z28
I bought a convertible Z28 2 about 2 months ago for $3500. It was a real piece of work. Bad transmission, front fender damage, horrible paint, a leaking top were just a few of the many problems but the engine ran strong as hell, was bone stock and felt like a 20k mile car so I bought it anyway. I've put a new transmission in it and had my buddy paint it (thanks Hugh). Next week it's going in for a new top and the exterior should be done (unless anyone wants to trade wheels with me)
Once I am complete with the exterior I can finish up my interior. The car came with the God awful white leather. The seats were torn to **** so I replaced them with gray cloth seats out of a 97. I need a few trim pieces here and there maybe even some new carpet and it should be good to go.
Anyway, I just wanted to share some pics with you all of the progress so far.
Enjoy!

Awsome job dude. I know what your going through. I turned this:
into this:
And just recently, into this:
Yes...It has an LS1.
In the end, there is no better feeling knowing you built it your self instead of buying it.
P.S. A carpet from a coupe WILL NOT fit right in a vert.

Thanks everyone
The car has 100k on the clock but you would never know it if I had a piece of tape over the odometer. It's actually funny that the car was in really bad shape but when I popped the hood the engine looked brand new. No grease, split fluids , no nothing.

Great job. It really means something when you can turn trash into treasure.
I just bought my 99 with 100k on it and it put down times in sig a couple weeks later. They sure don't give up easy!

LOL nah! Just keep an eye out. you can find cheap ones easily. I checked here, other forums, and craigslist several times a day for 6 months for one under 5k.
I wanted a project. I have a nice truck but I wanted something that I could wrench on knowing that I did have to pay for it the next 4 years thats why I stopped modding my truck.
I'm a college senior about to graduate, I work 2 jobs and do side jobs as well, I'm going nuts with my finance pestering me about our wedding plans and I'm trying to find a place to live. When I wake up on a Sunday, turn my cell phone off, grab a 6 pack, crank up the radio and grab a wrench I forget about all the crap I got going on and I'm at peace
