Default LS1 block table

I got a guy whos selling a cracked ls1 bare block i want 2 use it as a table and put it in my room......has anyone done this? im pretty sure its easy with the right materials

Buy the block

go to google and in the search bar type in:

"Common Sense"

that should get you everythign you need...

Seriously...I just don't understand the question? Its basically common knowledge..buy it and fab somethign cheap and easy up.

you dont need to be an ******* about it.......i just wanted to know different methods of making one......i know people attach connecting rods and pistons to hold up the upper glass part

Friend of mine did this with spare train engine parts, or something similar. Big *** pistons on that thing though, he used 4 pistons as legs, and 2 cylinders for the table + glass.

just use the block and weld a level peice of metal for a tray, and use the piston wholes as cup holders.

My friend Ron made a few of these. Had the blocks powdercoated, and used connecting rods to hold the tabletop up. They looked very nice. On his he used the cylinders as magazine holders.

What does a block weigh? I would think that table would be a bitch to move.

LS Bare Block with liners:

Aluminum = 107lbs
Iron = 172lbs

I thought it would be heavier......I already got alot of ideas in my head of all the things i can do with the block.....Im thinking I might make a sort of comfy bench for my room instead of a table

The seller said the block is not rusted just needs degreasing.....what can i use to clean it?
