I'm 5'10" and I move the seats in the Camaro's almost all the way back, probably 1/2" away from full travel on the seat. I have no issues with visability. A 5'6" driver should have no problem. I wouldn't let the X drive any of my toys, complete lack of concentration, but my new gal pal is 5'7" and will look absolutely wonderful in the drivers seat of any of my toys
You all think the visability is poor in the f-bodies, try driving my DD F350. You almost have to use the guess and feel method of avoiding objects in front of and on the sides of the truck. The rear is a piece of cake with the reverse sensors! After driving full size 3/4 and 1 ton trucks for 5 years i'm used to them, but my dually has taken a little extra getting used to.
Good luck with you search for a Camaro, you will love the power...it is very addictive. You will love the decision every time you dominate a Mustang!

yeah it's crazy. Coming from driving civics and integras my whole life, it's weird and takes some getting used to. I just picked mine up on sunday, and I have an lt1 TA, we all know how long that nose is.
I'm 5'10" w/ a manual seat, you can only raise the front of the seat, which doesn't help at all.

i don't know why anyone would really want to see the front of the car from inside.....most of the people that need to see the front of the vehicle to keep from hitting stuff probably shouldn't be driving in the first place.
like those people at the damn drive-thru window that only pull up halfway, keeping you from being able to pull all the way up to the microphone to place your order....then you look, and they've got 3/4 of a car length of empty space ahead of them......
unless you've only got one eye (and therefore, no depth perception), your brain's spatial memory should let you drive it easy enough....just take it easy for the first few days, and you should be ok.

Hey guys, i'm about 5'6 and i'm pretty short in my upper body.
I know that camaros sit pretty low and i'm not sure if i can see over the dash...
Can anyone move the seat to the highest point and measure from the seat to the top of the dash? It'd be a great help to me.
I know mustangs sit higher, and a mustang GT is an option, but honestly i'd rather sit on books in a camaro than drive a mustang
Also if it's any difference i'll be getting a 98+ camaro.
Thanks guys!

I see you own a Cobalt right now... So do I, actually, and I've ridden in my buddies 98 SS quite a bit. Trust me, it is definitely a HUGE difference from driving a small car like a cobalt, but I have driven his car and had no problems with it. I'm also 5'6". You will get use to it.

I'm 5'9"-5'10", depending on which leg I'm standing on. I do like sitting close to the steering wheel and further towards the floor. I have a fairly short upper body and I do good to see the back 2 feet of the hood. It does not effect visibility when driving or anything. These cars just don't allow you to see much of the front end. It took me about a day to get used to it. As long as you get power seats it should not be a problem for you at all. Have fun with your camaro!
